The month of January is named after Janus, the mythological Roman god of gates and doorways, beginnings and endings. He is most often depicted as having two heads facing in opposite directions.
Janus is the perfect metaphor for looking back at the past as we prepare for whats ahead in the future. Youve probably had your fill of retrospectives by now, so Ill limit myself to a few thoughts on what I hope lies ahead.
Ive been thinking a lot about how big our world is and how small-minded weve become; how quick we are to judge and how slow to understand. Technology places the resources of the world at our fingertips, yet we have trouble seeing past the ends of our noses.
Time to take a walk in another world. Resolve to leave the screens of your virtual world momentarily behind and plan a real world adventure in 2010. Heres my A to Z inspiration for your journey.
